Website ownership
As a domain registrar and web host, Hawlast Ventures acts as an agent to register and administer your domain name and ensure your website is accessible on the internet. The domain name, website and related copyright belong to you as the domain owner. You can therefore at any time without notice decide to switch (at your cost) to a different domain registrar or web host.
Websites maintenance
The digital space is in constant flux. New technology comes up, new security features and vulnerabilities are discovered each day. You as the website owner (or your programmer) must therefore ensure that the website files (HTML, PHP, CSS and JS) are up-to-date and do not have vulnerabilities to hackers. Hawlast Ventures offer maintenance at a fee. For emails, we strongly recommend use of an Email client like Microsoft's Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple's Mail to back up your emails on your device.
Web hosting and domain renewal
Our services are paid for annually – 12 months from the day of sign up. We will send email reminders and updates about domain or web hosting services via email support@hawlast.com.
We do not back up or store files for overdue hosting accounts. If you have no intention of renewing your web hosting account, kindly back up your website files, database and emails.
Late domain name renewal beyond the grace period may result in a penalty or the domain maybe deleted and will be available for registration by the public.
Hawlast Ventures expressly disclaims liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages or lost profits that result directly or indirectly from the delay to renew the service.
Spam emails
Sending unsolicited commercial emails is unethical. Our email servers can only send 2000 email per day (200 per hour). We take complains of spammers on our servers seriously and you may loss your services for engaging in Spam.
Illegal activities
We do not allow our clients to use our platform to engage in illegal activities as defined by the Kenyan law.
Changes in terms of service
Any change in terms of service will be published on our website from time to time.
