The most viable alternative for now is to receive payments through mpesa. Companies such as Pesapal have come up with system that automate the payments so that a buyer can order and pay for goods or services online and the merchant will receive the payments in her bank account.
Receive credit / debit card payments online
Below is a review of available providers of online payments. These are companies that will enable you receive payments from your website without you incurring the cost of securing the like Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) and enables you to be paid with debt or credit cards like Visa and Mastecard.

The providers above charge a commission for every transaction. The money is kept in your virtual account until you withdrawn it to your account. Some of the providers above do not allow withdrawals to Kenyan bank accounts (eg Paypal), while others allow for a cheque or wire transfer.
