Top Level Domain registration in Kenya
A Top Level Domain (TLD) is the “suffix” or the end of each domain name. (e.g., the “.com” in hawlast.com is the TLD.)

Why is my domain not loading when I enter its address in the browser?

The domain name registration has not propagated yet. It takes approximately 24 – 72 hours for any newly registered domain to show up on the Web. A similar process occurs any time a domain is renewed after its expiration date. If you renew your domain before its expiration date, however, no downtime will be experienced. Your domain name registration has expired. Domain names will go off-line if they have expired. Perform a Whois search to check the status of your domain registration. If the Status field reads anything other than Active, you should contact Customer Support.

Domain expired
This means that the domain name has not been renewed and will be deleted from the registry at any time. Most Registrars give a grace period of 15 days before they delete the domain. If a domain is not renewed before its expiration date, it goes off-line and you will not be able to access your website or emails.

Redemption Period
A domain name is set to this status if the domain name is deleted. It will remain in this status for 30 calendar days unless the Restore command is issued. To renew the domain – restore – will cost you more than if you would have paid for renewal before the expiry period.
