I provide web hosting. Its different from provision of Internet access. Internet access is provided by Internet Service Providers and phone companies. A website owner needs access to reliable internet often enough to change the content and respond to emails. Check the options available for you below;

Cyber Cafes
This is the easiest way to access the Internet in Kenya with the least investment on your part. Kenya has a galore of Cyber cafes, accessible in the village and excusive hotels alike. The services are charged in per minute rates, and vary from as low as Ksh. 50 cents to Ksh. 5 per minute.

On you mobile phone
Phone models like Nokia E66, Nokia E90, Nokia 3120c, and Nokia 2600c have EDGE/ HSDPA Internet access capability; you just need to ask your mobile service provider about these services.

A phone key pad is sufficient in responding to social emails, chat with friends but is not for robust use like online research, or any web professional. Check number 3, 4 for a more reliable internet access service.

Internet access for your PC or Laptop
Safaricom offers the Safaricom Broadband Modem (Huawei E220).You will need to buy a Broadband Modem at Ksh. 9,999. This will cost you Ksh.1,999 for 700 MB. It is ideal for a single PC and laptop user.

But I recommend a similar service by Zain or Zuku ProSurf bundle by Wananchi Online that has unlimited Internet access at about Ksh. 3,000 per month. To subscribe to the Zain USB Modem, you will need to buy the Modem + month’s subscription – for about Ksh. 14,000 in total.

Zuku costs less (Ksh. 5,880) in installation compared to Zain or Safaricom USD Modem. The advantage of the Zain or Safaricom is that you will always be on a hot spot in the country as long as their network coverage is available. Zuku ProSurf on the other hand relies on the WiMax wireless and is still restricted to Nairobi.

ProSurf
256Kbps Unlimited connectivity
5 Free Mailboxes
Ksh. 2,999.00 per month
Installation at Ksh. 5,800.00
Free WiMax Equipment

Orange Broadband plus
256kpbs Unlimited connectivity
5 mailboxes
5,990 Ksh. per month + livebox at Ksh 10,990
Check their offer at Orange Broadband plus.

Please note that these services and prices may change.
